Gather round, gather round! It's time for a little show and tell. This week I thought I'd share my new storyboards with you all.

"Fairy Hot Mother"
This particular story was pieced together with my new found obssession and tv hit, Once Upon A Time, in mind. Come on, what girl doesn't love a classic fairy tale?! I think I'm hooked partly because I sense the style of story telling is familiar to another guilty favorite, American Horror Story. The shows take time to explore each of the drama-enveloped characters, individually, showing you a little of their past and personal baggage progressively. I imagined what my fairy godmother might look like and I thought i'd give her some flare- new and old.
"Candy Fan"
Recently i saw Red Tails on a college night in efforts to support the all black casted movie. I hate to say it, but i was so disappointed in it all. Despite my critique of the acting, I was happy with the uniforms and wardrobe because it fits right in the category of my favorite eras! The hats of the US army have always stood out to me. I personally think the front winged shoes (right bottom corner) would match them beautifully. What do think of my boards? Hot or Flop? Kan-Yay or Nay? Which one is better?
Who would you name as your fairy godmother?
(mine? Lucille Ball)

I love that you spotted how playful fashion is getting in each of your boards. BTW- lurve the name of this- it's ingenious & describes you to a T.
ReplyDeleteI love the candy fan board, it's very unique and I love the colors.
DeleteThose blue lips on your first board are fantastic! "fairy hot mother" is such a great name and describes the fashion well.
ReplyDeleteI think I love Candy Fan the best! I love all those military inspired hats on the bottom left! I think I would choose Betty White to be my fairy godmother! I think she would tell me like it is...
ReplyDeletebetty white- she surely would! haha
DeleteSo I love fairy tales to DEATH! I'm all for jumping on the Snow White obsession bandwagon. Legitimately tho I think the Candy Fan one is more successful. I can see clear evidence of your concept without explanation.
ReplyDeleteFairy Hot Mother is such a clever name! I love it! I like how these garments are so risque and modern. This one is my favorite :)
ReplyDeletei love it so much!! the clever names, the playful approach to the inspiration, everything! it's very unique and very you :D
ReplyDeleteI love the boldness presented in your Fairy Hot Mother storyboard! From the colors, to the prints, to the sheers, everything is impeccably mixed and matched and definitely give off the vibe of a very confident, fashion forward woman.
ReplyDeleteBoth of your boards are very inspiring. But I am more partial to the Fairly Hot Mother board. I love the fact that the prints are mixed in such interesting ways that it still matches. The colors are very playful and would create a successful line.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it is just because of the fun name "Fairy Hot Mother" -- but I think, by far, this is the best of the two boards. You could really find many avenues for inspiration with this theme to play off of.
ReplyDeleteI looooooove Fairy hot Mother! i love the mix of patterns and the colors are very pleasing. And is that a pic of lucille ball in the corner? She is my all time favorite!
ReplyDeleteyes as a nominee for my fairy godmother-she's in my top 5 pick... lol
DeleteI love Fairy Hot Mother, such a cute name! The color/print/texture choices mix well together! You could really get a lot out of this inspiration to make your own collection.
ReplyDeleteI like the first board, the color scheme seems to have more to it than the second board, there is more to go off of to design a line.
ReplyDeleteFairy Hot Mother is probably one of the most inspired Style Boards I've seen in a while. It's a great take on fairy tales and if I were Brandy, I'd want my Fairy God Muthah to dress like that
ReplyDeleteI love the colors of the Fairy Hot Mother and how playful it is!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the Fairy Hot Mother board, maybe mainly because of the blue lipstick, but I'm also attracted to the sheer and flowy silhouettes and the color scheme. Your concept is interesting and I think it's conveyed successfully
